Influence of Motivation and Constrain Factors of Family Overseas Travel on the Choices of Tourism Types- A Case of Elementary School Teachers in Taoyuan City / 親子海外旅遊動機、阻礙因素對旅遊方式選擇之影響—以桃園市國小教師為例

碩士 / 開南大學 / 觀光運輸學院碩士在職專班 / 105 / Elementary-school teachers have a stable income job and can assign family overseas travels during summer and winter vacations. Thus, elementary-school teachers are one of important overseas travel customers. This study was to explore the influence of motivation and constrain factors of family overseas travel on the choices of tourism types for elementary-school teachers in Taoyuan City. Study data were obtained from questionnaires using a convenience sampling method. A total of 512 questionnaires were implemented and 309 questionnaires were valid. After coding, deceptive statistics,t test, one-way analysis of variance, post-hoc comparison using the Scheffe method, and binary logistic regression were adopted to analyze the questionnaire data. The analyzed results are listed as follows:
1. The positive curiosity and experience are the main motivation of family overseas travels and intrapersonal constraints are the main constrain factors of family overseas travel for elementary-school teachers. Moreover, most elementary-school teachers like to travel using backpacking.
2. The travel motivation has significant difference among age, number of children, age of children, and family income.
3. The constrain factors have significant difference among number of children and family income.
4. The choices of tourism types have no significant difference among backgrounds.
5. The travel motivation has no significant difference among the choices of tourism types.
6. Intrapersonal constraints, interpersonal constraints and structural constraints significantly influence the choices of tourism types.
7. According to results obtained from binary logistic regression, group travel is related to age of children, physical and mental relaxing and recuperation, and intrapersonal constraints; self-backpacking travel is related to position and intrapersonal constraints; and backpacking travel is related to intrapersonal constraints.
The study suggestions based on the aforementioned analyzed results can provide an important reference for teachers, travel agencies and future researchers
