碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 觀光與餐旅管理研究所 / 105 / When the international market opening, more and more talents going overseas looking for career opportunities. This study uses qualitative participant observation and in-depth interviews with eight (8) overseas youth’s workers in the hospitality industry. The main guideline of these interviews includes the background of overseas work, motivation, experiences and their career developments. Information was collected to figure out major events and make recommendations to the future youth and for further study. Domestic employment is not the only option, get out the comfort zone and take the challenge to improve oneself because the next generation will face international competitions for talented people. The results of this study are as follows:
The main reason for youth searching for overseas working opportunities is not salary but the opportunities to learn, international experiences, and career development. The oversea work pushes the youth to grow up. Acquire overseas life and work experiences, improving the youth's overseas adoptions abilities, made they think differently, broader visions and growing in their mind. Have more chances to Learn others technology and innovation. The overseas work experience can help youth worker's better planning for the future. However, the interviewees’ stories and developments can be served as a reference because different people have different planning and consideration that made the results differently.
