碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 化學工程與材料工程系碩士在職專班 / 105 / Polymer solution was prepared by dissolving Poly(vinylidene fluoride) in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) were used as thickener, through the spinning device prepared into hollow fiber membranes. In this study, we investigated the properties and the effect of desalination of the composite hollow fibers that mixed with 6 wt% self-synthesized inorganic material SBA-15 in the poly(vinylidene fluoride) solution (PF-S6) and PVDF fibers.
The characteristic absorption peaks of PVDF hollow fibers and SBA-15 were also observed in the spectra of PF-S6 hollow composite fiber by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). It was confirmed that SBA-15 did incorporate hollow composite fibers.
Thermogravimetric loss analyzer (TGA) measures PF-S6 composite hollow fiber and PVDF hollow fiber, while the thermal degradation temperature and residue of PF-S6 composite hollow fiber are higher than PVDF hollow fiber, proved that SBA-15 is indeed mixed with composite hollow fiber.
The pore size, surface morphology and asymmetric pore structure of PF-S6 composite hollow fiber were observed by scanning electron microscope. It was found that incorporation of SBA-15 did’t affect the surface morphology and pore structure. The pore size of SBA-15 was determined by a transmission electron microscope.
The BET specific surface area analyzer was used to determine the difference in specific surface area and pore size of self-synthesized SBA-15, PF-S6 composite hollow fiber and PVDF hollow fiber.
The composite hollow fiber was used to carry out seawater desalination, and the self-assembled desalination module was subjected to vacuum membrane distillation at 50 ℃ and 0.1 bar to calculate the fiber trans-membrane flux of 0.625 kg·m-2·hr-1, the salt rejection was 97.12%.
