碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 應用中國文學系碩士在職專班 / 105 / Meng Tung Li’s loved to think about the meaning of life constantly with his deep philosophical literacy. He advocated and implemented the philosophy of bio-philia and set a good example for those living today.
Meng Tung Li’s Coastal Cottage Notes are the researching subject which takes care of the author, the works, and the researcher. This thesis adopts both the document analysis and the accept aesthetics theory and aims at the statements below. First of all, to analyze the concept of bio-philia philosophy. Second, to prove that the coastal cottage notes are the life records of Meng Tung Li’s bio-philia philosophy. Third, to highlight the literary significance and social influence of Meng Tung Li’s coastal cottage notes.
There are six chapters in this study.
Chapter 1:
Introduce the motivation and the research methods.
Chapter 2:
Introduce Meng Tung Li’s life. It includes his life experience, personality traits, literature growth, and translation business.
Chapter 3:
Discuss Meng Tung Li’s world on writing and his journey of belief.
Chapter 4:
Analyze the four topics in the coastal cottage notes.
Chapter 5:
Analyze the employment of different rhetoric techniques in the coastal cottage notes.
Chapter 6:
Conclude that the literary significance and social influence of the coastal cottage notes contribute to the society and the Taiwan literature.
