碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 環境工程學系 / 105 / This work presents a novel approach that combines euphotic depth, sea surface temperature and bathymetry to evaluate the potential coral reef regions. It is a simple approach to evaluate where coral reefs are found and good habitat. Considering growth conditions, coral reef regions require a certain amount of sunlight and penetrate the water until the bottom, and temperature is suitable. The products are retrieved from Landsat 8 and MODIS satellite remote sensing. This study, in multi-scale, could be divided into two parts. Large scale mapping using MODIS Aqua images for even eleven years data, it is suitable for habitat suitability modelling, to ensure product stability. Based on model, using Landsat 8 images evaluate the potential CRR and gain more information from targeted area. The result shows that coral reefs are exist in Taiwan’s eastern coast. Next, Kenting area, Penghu, Lyudao and Lanyu islands are coral reef regions. It is likely to be consistent with actual underwater surveys from NOAA.
