Eliminating single-hull tankers is an unstoppable world trend. The elimination plan and schedules are very different from country to country. This thesis tries to analyze the possible ship selection projects and strategies which can be pratically executed when the ship owners who have the single-hull tankers with R.O.C.(Republic of China) flag facing the elimination. In addition, this thesis also focuses on the operational difficulties and discusses the possible developing strategies in terms of the market-based environment. The research method are AHP expert questionnaire and TOPSIS analysis. First, the thesis looks for the weights of the important and vital factors in order to find the most suitable “ship transformation scenario.” Next, the thesis compares and analyzes the two different results from these two reaserch methods. The result shows that renewing the existing tankers is the most suitable sceratio for ship-owners of single-hull oil tanker with R.O.C.(Republic of China) flag. The content of this thesis helps ship-owners take it as a reference when they are facing the elimination of single-hull tankers, and facilitates the process of elaluating their companies’ scale and needs.
