The pressure hull undertakes the extreme compressive load. Therefore, the pressure hull needs accurate design and analysis to confirm the compressive strength.
Fincantieri production of S-200 type submarines are used to the design objects in this study. BSI-PD-5500 specifications are used to design the S-200 pressure hull, the pressure hull model is established by software Rhino-3D, and appropriate transfer process is imported to HyperMesh to meshing mesh. Then we imported the 3D model directly to ABAQUS and turned into finite element model. Finally we apply simulation software ABAQUS to estimate the pressure hull compressive strength, and reference PD-5500 specification for structural reinforcement. According to the results of buckling simulation, we can confirmed that actual buckling depth of pressure hull is far exceeding the designed depth.
Finally this study suggests that PD-5500 specification used for design the pressure hull could acquire the comparatively conservative results and enhance the security of the structure design.
