碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 輪機工程研究所 / 105 / With the increasing importance of environment protection, in order to effectively reduce the emission of exhaust gas of ships in harbous area, tugboat owners and port authorities have started to pay attention to the development of all-electric tugboats (OET) and power hybrid tugboats (PHT). From the viewpoint of practical applications, OET and PHT have the advantages of improving fuel efficiency, reducing fuel costs and reducing the emissions of exhaust gas. Therefore, traditional diesel engine tugboats have been gradually replaced with the OET and PHT. Because the control system of OET is more complicate than PHT, and the cost of OET is more expensive than PHT, the latter are more welcome by tugboat owners and port authorities. This research aims to investigate the necessity of PHT development and the advantages and disadvantages for application of PHT-related supporting facilities. The results will be useful, for tugboat owners and port authorities, to the development of new
generation tugboats.
