碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 輪機工程研究所 / 105 / When a ship berth and unberth in a port, in addition to employee a harbor pilot, it is usually necessary to have a tugboat in order to ensure the safety and efficiency during the ship movement. Because of the large size of modern commercial ships, the total horsepower of the harbor tugboats should also be increased. The purpose of this thesis carries out the analysis between tugboat horsepower and bollard pull in Kaohsiung Harbor. The utilization rate of tugboat is also investigated herein. It is hoped that the presented results of this thesis will provide useful information to the tugboat manufacturers for the efficient selection of tugboat horsepower in the future.
