碩士 / 國立高雄第一科技大學 / 運籌管理系碩士班 / 105 / This paper addresses hub-and- spoke network design under demand uncertainty for container liner shipping services. The proposed method aims to determine the number of hub ports, the location for the hub ports, the travel paths from each origin to each destination, and the flows on each path, while minimizing the total cost including hub setup costs and transportation costs. This study proposed a robust optimization model by using minimax approach to deal with the stochastic demand which comes from seasonal demand variations. The liner shipping data in Mediterranean area was used to test the proposed model. The proposed robust model was also compared with various traditional deterministic models. The test results showed that the solution provided from the proposed model is more robust to the demand fluctuation.
