Puppet of internet Information Technology: Poster Designs on Social Issues / 「資訊化懸絲」 社會議題海報創作研究

碩士 / 國立高雄師範大學 / 視覺設計學系 / 105 / ‘Living under the Strings of Informatisation’ is the core concept of this creative research. In the information age, people are addicted to the Internet and overuse 3C products, which seems to have formed an ideology of being invisibly manipulated. In the light of such, through discussion and 20 hand-drawn posters, author of this paper organises his observation and reflection; indicates the popularisation of the Internet and 3C products, despite the convenience it brings, in fact does bring negative influence to the society—from style of life to way of thinking and behaving; from group to individuals. This research also aims to enlighten the mass to examine the subjective-and-objective relation between human and technology, as well as to clarify self consciousness.

This creative research sets the frame from 5 themes: human relationship, psychology, physiology, thoughts and public opinion. It brings out the core concept with thorough discussion and creation. In discussion, through ‘semiotics’, this research analyses current illustrators’ work of informatisation, how they apply transformation of symbols to achieve the best functionality of graphics. In creation, it adopts hand-drawn style to complete the posters, so as to demonstrate personal style, as well as to precisely express the balance between symbols and art. The author merges both ways, blending the essence of various approaches, in order to internalise the suitable visual presentation and to create a series of posters that are with strong personal style. All these are used to explore the drawbacks of informatisation, as well as to verify the role and significance of posters in ‘new media’.
