Study on Optimal Method of jetty for Yacht Wharf a case of the South Side of Yacht Wharf in the Dapeng Bay BOT / 大鵬灣遊艇碼頭南側護堤優選工法之探討

碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 土木工程系所 / 105 / The Contents of Abstract in this Thesis: Water activity-related planning of the Dapeng Bay is a crucial factor determining the success of its development. In addition, research and planning of the placement of yacht wharf -related facilities in the Dapeng Bay have a profound effect on the development of related industries such as the sea tourism and yacht industries. Therefore, this study conducted a detailed investigation and analysis on the status quo of the Dapeng Bay sea, bay, and land areas. On the basis of these results, favorable yacht wharf protection embankment locations and recommended conditions were evaluated and complete protection embankment facilities planning and placements were proposed to maintain the static stability of the Dapeng Bay yacht wharf, minimize the impact of open ocean waves and currents on yacht wharf -related facilities, and sustain harbor functions.
To identify the ideal locations for constructing the protection embankment on the south side of the yacht wharf, this study collected, researched, and analyzed basic Dapeng Bay environment data, studied waves that formed in the Dapeng Bay area, and engaged in protection

embankment planning. Once site conditions were confirmed, the optimal protection embankment model was selected and various factors were compared to determine the optimal engineering method for building the protection embankment on the south side of the yacht harbor. Benefits of various engineering methods were researched and analyzed to identify the optimal method, and an optimal engineering project was designed and planned.
According to the study results, suitable engineering methods for constructing yacht wharf protection embankments comprise the caisson method and the steel pipe sheet pile method. Thorough analysis and comparison between the two methods in terms of the construction duration, cost, and difficulty involved showed that the steel pipe sheet pile method displayed superior geological conditions and land use demands than the caisson method did. However, the steel pipe sheet pile method also incurred a construction cost 10%–30% higher than that of the caisson method. Thus, this study determined that the vertical caisson method should be employed for the 4–5 meter-deep protection embankment on the south side of the yacht wharf, and the results can serve as a reference for related units.
