Sequence Analysis of Stanniocalcin-1 in Tilapia(Oreochromis Mossambicus) / 莫三比克吳郭魚司坦尼氏降鈣素序列之分析

碩士 / 國立臺南大學 / 生物科技學系碩士班 / 105 / The regulation of osmotic pressure and ion are important for fish to live in freshwater or seawater. Some elements such as gill, skin, kidney and membrane protein are involved with transportation of ion and water. Calcium is an important component of a mineral necessary for all animals. It plays an important role in bone structure and biochemistry of organisms and the cell. One of the steroid hormones which can increase calcium concentration in blood is Cortisol. Stanniocalcin(STC)was originally identified in fish and suggested to participate in Ca2+ homeostasis. It’s a homodimeric glycoprotein that is secreted from the corpuscles of Stannius(CS), which are attached to the kidneys.

In the study, we find the 1313 base of overall nucleotide sequence of stanniocalcin in tilapia(Oreochromis mossambica)by gene cloning. The expression of ECaC and STC-1 during tilapia larvae development in environment of additional cortisol is obviously increased in 9 hours sample. The relation between ECaC and STC-1 in tilapia will be the purpose.
