An Economic Analysis of Eco-friendly White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) Culture in Plastic Ponds in Indonesia / 在印尼應用塑膠池塘從事宜生態蝦(白蝦)養殖概念之經濟分析

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 105 / This study presents an economic analysis of white shrimp farming at different size of ponds in Pacitan district, East Java, Indonesia. Forty white shrimp farms selected from two different size of ponds. The sample sizes then were categorized into two scales (small and large) which small size ponds was 600 – 800 m2, and large size ponds was 1000 m2 based on their production cost. Two sets of variables were carefully determined. The first set was the biological type which consisted of stocking density, survival rate and feed conversion ratio whereas the second set was the economic type which consisted on input intensity.
Multivariate statistical concepts were applied which included multivariate analysis (MANOVA) and principle component analysis. The Cobb-Douglas production function was further used to study the current status of white shrimp production system. As a result indicates that there was significant effect on small and large white shrimp farming system in Pacitan district, East Java Indonesia by using the multivariate input variables. The principal component analysis showed that large ponds farm had higher intensity in overall input compare with small pond. Finally, the Cobb-Douglas production function analysis indicated that unit of the net return was strongly determined by the input intensities of labor. The analysis also reported an increasing return to scale existed.
