Determinants of Green Supply Chain Management Adoption Intention: Evidence from Shipping Service Firms / 探討海運服務業者採用綠色海運供應鏈管理意願之關鍵影響因素

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 105 / Green supply chain management (GSCM) has been widely discussed among different industry to improve their environmental performance and corporate image. The issues of environmentally friendly operations and shipping operations have been paying attention from academics and practitioners. Consequently, it is important for shipping service firms to achieve balance between organization governance and environmental protection. The purpose of this study is to examine the contextual factors that affect the GSCM adoption intention in Taiwanese shipping service firms. The three contextual factors examined in this study are organizational contexts (top management support, employee support, and IS readiness), expected benefits (expected direct benefits and expected indirect benefits) and environmental contexts (trading partner readiness, green shipping requirements, and environment regulatory).

This study then empirically tests the proposed model using partial least squares (PLS) as structural equation modelling (SEM) approach. This study was used to collected data from 236 Taiwanese shipping service firms to determine the determinants of GSCM adoption intention. The results showed that top management support, employee involvement, IS readiness, expected direct benefits, trading partner relationship, green shipping requirements, firm age and firm size have significantly affect the adoption intention of GSCM.
