碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 105 / his thesis employs AHP technique to investigate the key service attributes for the high speed ferry ship-owner providing freight service across the Taiwan Strait. An analytical hierarchic research structure composing of five service dimensions and nineteen service attributes is employed to pairwise calculate the degree of importance of these service dimensions and service attributes. The AHP questionnaires are distributed to shipping scholars, major shippers and forwarders as the survey respondents. Research findings indicate three of the top four most important service attributes are belonged to the dimension of “transportation capability”. These three service attributes are low lost ratio, reliable delivery service, and reasonable ocean freight charge. According to the research findings, three suggestions are provided to improve the competitiveness of the high-speed freight ferry operators: To increase the operational safety of freight service, to speed up the cargo handling operation, and to make the most of use of the low freight advantage to compete with the air freight service providers.
