碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 環境生物與漁業科學學系 / 105 / Benthosema pterotum was one of the important prey of some large and medium-sized economic species. It plays the role of energy transfer in the marine food chain. The Sagittal otolith was used to evaluate the age and growth of Benthosema pterotum in I-Lan Bay.
Biological Samples were collected in I-lan Bay (24.7 ° ~ 24.9 ° N, 121.9 ° ~ 122.1 ° E) during the period of March to June 2016. A total of 155 specimens were analyzed. The standard lengths of total samples were ranged from 24.40 – 43.45 mm with body weights of 180 – 1090 mg. The daily rings were estimated from 73-205 rings. The regression of weight (W) to standard length (SL) was estimated as W =0.0142SL2.8639 (R²= 0.87). Employ ANCOVA for rings-standard length data and rings-weight data, the result showed the significant difference for both male and female growth.
An age character was Sagittal otolith in this study. Get linear regression by data of age and standard length from the translucent band. Growth coefficient k =0.9 , asymptotic total length L_∞= 8.12 cm and t_0= -0.22 for females; k = 0.87, L_∞ = 7.57 cm and t_0= -0.25 for males.
