Study on safety management procedure for marine electrical systems / 船舶電力系統的安全管理之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 輪機工程學系 / 105 / In addition to the Main engine, generators and electrical distribution system also play an important role in vessel’s engine-room. Once the electricity was interrupted, all electric-driven motors are shut down, which will interrupt all the resources that support the main engine, and thus cause the main engine to shut down as well, it may endanger to the ship’s safety. Therefore, it is important to maintain a stable electricity supply under any circumstance. In order to meet a larger electrical power needed for large ship, such as container ship, high voltage power supplies are provided. Precautions are needed for using high voltage power supply, safety procedures are required for inspection and operating these high voltage apparatuses. IMO has put much attention on safety procedures for using high voltage system, high voltage training are required for engine-room’s engineers.

In this study, we focus on the safety management for low-voltage electrical power generation system and high-voltage electric power generation system. Fault tree analysis method is applied to analyze the causes for possible faults. Fault detection/isolation and fault accommodation are studied to support the engineers in the engine-room for managing these electrical systems. Safety procedures for high-voltage power generating system may also support the high-voltage training courses for ship’s engineers.
