碩士 / 國立臺北教育大學 / 自然科學教育學系 / 105 / Three dominant plankton species, such as Noctiluca scintillans, Temora turbinata and Oncaea venusta, were collected from the northern and northeastern coasts (Yilan offshore) of Taiwan, and were analyzed for the trace metal contents ( Ag, Cd, Cr, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn). The trace metal concentrations in these plankton samples were as follows: Ag, 0.2-5296 mg kg - 1; Cd, 0.002-648 mg kg - 1; Co, 1-1714 mg kg - 1; Cr, 9-13964 mg kg - 1; Cu, 3-2731 mg kg - 1; Fe, 362-66861 mg kg - 1; Mn, 0.3-10285 mg kg - 1; Ni, 1-14643 mg kg - 1; Pb, 0.3-1048 mg kg - 1; and Zn, 0.1-10802 mg kg - 1.
The average concentration of trace metals in these analyzed samples followed the sequence: Fe > Cr > Ni > Zn > Mn > Ag > Co > Cu > Pb > Cd. The sequence of the trace metal contents in these plankton species was Noctiluca scintillans > Oncaea venusta female with egg > Oncaea venusta male > Oncaea venusta female > Temora turbinata male > Temora turbinata female. The plankton samples collected in the northeastern coast (Yilan offshore) had the higher trace metal concentrations than those of the northern coast.
