The allelochemical of Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst on Microcystis sp. Growth and its Physiological Mechanism / 假馬齒莧的相剋物質對微囊藻的生長影響與作用方式

碩士 / 國立臺東大學 / 生命科學系碩士班 / 104 / In recent years, water eutrophication and cyanobacteria blooms have been serious problems influencing the landscape and ecological functions of water bodies. How to control cyanobacteria blooms and water eutrophication efficiently is recognized as vanguard and hot-spot issue in the field of water environment research. The inhibitory allelopathy of plants on harmful algae growth have been receiving world-wide concern recently. In this study, inhibitory effects of Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst on Microcystis sp. were studied under co-cultivation and culture waters conditions. The allelopathic fatty acid was isolated by gas chromatography. Finally, the chlorophyll-a and efflux of K+ were determined to study the inhibition of Microcystis sp. by B. monnieri.

Results of co-cultivation group showed that the inhibitory rate of Microcystis sp. could reach 97.7% at 100 g FW·L-1, while the inhibitory rate of the culture waters group could reach 86.1% at 100% concentration. Three unknown allelopathic fatty acid was isolated by gas chromatography. The chlorophyll-a of Microcystis sp. was damaged during the cultivation. However, in experiment of efflux of K+, there was no significant difference between the control and the treatment. These results showed that B. monnieri. could inhibit the growth of Microcystis sp.and its main mechanism of allelochemical could cause destruction of the chlorophyll-a.
