碩士 / 國立臺灣科技大學 / 電子工程系 / 105 / This thesis presents a 9.4-GHz Butler matrix for the marine radar application. The matrix consists of 3 dB couplers, crossovers and fixed phase shifters. The 8×8 and 8×16 Butler matrices are realized by suspended striplines and microstrip lines, respectively. Two matrices integrated with 1×8 slot antennas and 1×16 patch antennas, which are designed by Mr. Chun-Hao Tseng, to form the 8-element and 16-element beam-switching phased-array antennas. The 8×8 Butler matrix realized by the suspended striplines with 1×8 slot antennas has successfully yielded 8 main beams pointing to -25˚(4L)、-18˚(3L)、-11˚(2L)、-4˚(1L)、4˚(1R)、11˚(2R)、18˚(3R)、26˚(4R), respectively. As compared to the theoretical switched angles, the average angle error is 0.3˚. On the other hand, the 8×16 Butler matrix realized by microstrip lines with 1×16 patch antennas produces 8 main beams pointing to -47˚(4L)、-33˚(3L)、-19˚(2L)、-4˚(1L)、5˚(1R)、17˚(2R)、30˚(3R)、46˚(4R), respectively. As compared to the theoretical switched angles, the average angle error is 1.1˚.
