碩士 / 台北海洋技術學院 / 海洋休閒觀光系碩士班 / 106 / Sigau area is in a convenient location for trade and commodities distribution in Keelung River and Northern Taiwan, but it is not well-developed for aquatic leisure activities.
The purpose of this study is to discuss the resources of available waterways that have been distributed in Sigau dock, as well as to assess the availability to develop other types of aquatic activities. This study will review the literature on the development of Sigau area, and the empirical analysis will be conducted by field investigation and interviews experts with aquatic activity backgrounds with the purpose to understand how the waterway and land facilities have been used and the limits of development. The results are expected to help proposing the strategies improving the environment of leisure development for waterfront, which, furthermore, can enhance the quality of leisure activities and integrate the surrounding industries to encourage further leisure participation in Sigau dock.
This study finds out that even though Sigau area has abundant land and water scenic and recreational resources, the lack of integration, limited hinterland and waterway, and unclean water environment affect citizen’s willingness to participate and explore other type of activities. This study proposes strategies that the government can take into consideration, which includes streamline the law and rules, improve the water quality by using floating dock or interception rope, build stepped dock to encourage more leisure participation, bring more various aquatic activities that combined the traditional and aboriginal cultures (e.g., canoe, sculling boat, Swan boat, SUP, etc.). and build aquatic sports center and hold competitions regularly. Promoting and enriching the varieties of aquatic activities in Sigau dock will not only make it a important aquatic leisure spot in Taipei City but also lead to a sustainable aquatic environment.
