碩士 / 國立臺北科技大學 / 電機工程研究所 / 105 / This research implements an image wandering detection system for guiding elderly with dementia. Effectiveness of this model introduce a low cost approach based on navigation system. which has three main components, including images guiding the user to the destination, wandering detection, and GPS track record of remote server.
Hardware using Android smartphone, the system through the elderly familiar scene of their home environment through image navigation technology to guide the elderly to arrive instead of the current common land navigation.
When the wandering happens, the system can detect the condition immediately and notify the remote sever. Emergency contact person can transmit the GPS coordinates to guide the elderly to the POF for waiting assistance. Remote sever also get a dynamic track of the elderly through the GPS signal.
Wandering detection uses an improved A* algorithm for obstacle detection and direction, andθ_WD algorithms defined the wandering condition and distinguish the condition. Due to the current market, there is no practical application in wandering detection. The relevant researches almost only study in position detection or the GPS tracks. According results of the experiment show that this system has potential applications.
