Screening and Application of Oil - rich Microalgae for Biodiesel Production / 富油微藻篩選及應用於生質柴油產製之研究

碩士 / 環球科技大學 / 生物技術研究所 / 105 / Photoautotroph microalgae can use carbon dioxide, as carbon source for growth, and its oil contain is higher than other energy crops, such as corn, sugar can; so it is considered as one of the potential source for bio-diesel. In this study, freshwater samples obtain from the pool of the TransWorld University and the Lake TiTi in German, was cultured in BG11 medium (pH 7.1) at room temperature, with 12/12 hr light/dark cycle, air aeration of 7,500 mL / min for a month. Oil-rich algae was screening by Sudan Black stain method and then by 18S rDNA sequencing as Desmodesmus pannonicus 101,202 and D. armatus T012. The FAME producing was determined as 127.3% (101), 95.8% (202) and 146.2% (T012). The results showed that C16 and C18 fatty acids were the main components of the algae oil, and the ratio of C16 to C18 fatty acids of D.pannonicus 202 was higher than the other two, although its total oil content was less. This study obtained three oil-rich microalgae, with the potential as a source of bio-diesel.
