Ultrasound Guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound : Quality Assurance and Quantitative Analysis by Computed Tomography imaging / 超音波導引型海扶刀使用電腦斷層影像進行品質保證量化分析

碩士 / 中山醫學大學 / 醫學影像暨放射科學系碩士班 / 106 / Purpose
There is no standard quantitative quality assurance method for ultrasound guild HIFU. B-mode images only can observe white high-intensity areas, without considering the true extent of damage. The original quality assurance only uses the naked eye to judge the Cavity on the target. The purpose of this research is to use the original quality assurance target and follow the original assurance process to create an image quantification method for this quality assurance for observing the actual damaged area on the target model. Establish indicators of its quality assurance stability and reproducibility.

Materials and Methods
Use the High Intensity Focused Ultrasound system for quality assurance, use different wattages and different operation time of target parameters for 27 original quality assurance target models operation.
After the target operation, the target models is scanned by computed tomography. computed tomography parameter:120kVp、180mAs、0.6mm slice thickness.
Using Image j to analyze target computer tomography, comparison of cavitation peak volume and cavity distribution under different target parameters.

Result and discussion
Different target’s operation parameters on the computer tomography images observed different distribution of cavity. Found cavitation peak volume cavity formation area positive correlation between wattage and seconds, in addition to the 400w2s. Layout position is different distributions according to respective different wattage and seconds.
The reason of 400W2s operation parameters cavity formation area low and weak, we thought the machine was not already warm up. Or the machine could not output completely under 400W2s operation parameters.

Conclusion
We use computer tomography to evaluate the target model, accurately quantify the effect of each correction in the case of quantitative correction. In the future, it can be used in the quality assurance application.
