Cold water drainage influence the BOD5 of harbor / 冷排水對港池BOD5影響研究

Therefore, we import clean energy such as nature gas for usinganddeveloping economy. CPC corporation set the LNG receiving terminal in the Taichung Harbor. They monitored of environmental data in order to grasp the impact on the environment. Because of the raw materials from abroad and facilitated transport. The natural gas will be stored in a liquid state. After arriving in Taiwan, they use a lot of seawater to revert LNG to the gas state. The water which after heating exchange discharged in the ocean is called cold water drainage. It is one of the impact on the marine environment caused by LNG receiving terminal.
In this study,used cold-drainage date on biochemical oxygen demand monitoring in Taichung Harbor. We analysis BOD5distribution in different situations. The average of BOD5 is 2.4 ~ 2.5 mg/L for four stations in Taichung Harbor. There is no significant differences. The average of BOD5 is 2.3 ~ 3.0 mg/L for four seasons. There is also no significant differences. The average of BOD5 is 1.4 ~ 2.9 mg/L in recent years. In addition, the average of BOD5 and the distance between the cold water drainage flow discharge port to the stations are noobvious relationship.
