碩士 / 義守大學 / 資訊管理學系 / 106 / As the information and communication technologies advance, users have widely adopted the navigation devices. For people’s daily life, the functions of positioning, searching and route planning are very usefule for most of the users. In this thesis the user behavior for portable navigation devices and smart phone navigation are investigated. A questionnaire was conducted for this research and the population of the questionnaire is the personnel of a military organization in Taichung. Based on the data collected from the questionnaire, the user behavior in six dimensions is analyzed respect to the four basic variables. The basic variables are gender, age, position, and education, and the six dimensions include effectiveness, ease of use, positioning accuracy, quality of e-map, performance, and after-sales service. The research results are summarized as follows. The young users’ perception of the effectiveness and ease of use is higher than the elder users’ perception. Thus, the factor of user’s age could affect the adoption of information devices. Moreover, the satisfaction on positioning accuracy of female users is higher than the male users. On the other hand, male users have higher satisfaction on the quality of e-map than female users. For the performance elder users have higher satisfaction than the younger users, and female users’ satisfaction on after-sales service is higher than male users. Finally all users who are in different ages have good over-all satisfaction on navigation devices, but especially the users that received the college degree have lower over-all satisfaction than the other users. Generally speaking, the user behavior of and satisfaction on navigation devices are affected by users needs in their daily life, personal experiences and user’s characteristics. The further study may include extending the scale of the questionnaire and exploring more factors that affect the user behavior.
