碩士 / 國立中興大學 / 行銷學系所 / 106 / About 80% of the wholesalers of the building materials stated that the current issue is serious competition and descending profits. Under this kind of harsh industry circumstances, F Company (the target company of this research) still makes purchase decision according to the managers’ personal experience, and sometimes it leads a loss in the profit. Purchasing decision is very important in the building materials wholesale industry because the inventory holding cost have a great portion in the building materials wholesale industry cost structure. And this study aims at providing a better decision scheme for the target company.
In order to reduce the losses caused by F Company’s procurement errors, this study reconfigures a procurement strategy through the multi-item Economic Ordering Quantity (EOQ) model. The study add the constraints to involve the import logistics concern. The purpose of this model is to minimize total cost per year through using the optimal common cycle for the procurement of some products with steady demands.
Finally, the numerical examples were conducted to show that if F Company adopt the new purchasing quantity (decided by the common purchasing cycle), it will introduce a significant decrement in the total cost per year. The study also uses the sensitivity analysis to validate and illustrate the effects of the model parameters. At the end of the study, we conclude some research limitations and provide the future research direction.
