碩士 / 國立中興大學 / 運動與健康管理研究所 / 106 / The aim of the study was to investigate the development and history of dragon boat games in Lukang Township, Chuanghua County. Lukang, as a historically cultural town, the traditional dragon boat games held locally have become one of the popular cultural activities during annually Dragon Boat Festival. Many dragon boat teams
-including from national and international- not only attending the games but the games itself having the purpose of traditional culture conservation. Thus, through the literature review and the researcher’s personal actual experience of leading dragon boat team, examining the sports of dragon boat and its current development in Lukang Township. The result shows that holding dragon boat games is in the great aid of local cultural and economic development. The sustainability of dragon boat games in Lukang Township is discussed as well.
