The impact of wave setup to coastal inundation / 溯升對海岸溢淹影響之研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 水利及海洋工程學系 / 106 / The goal of this study is to analyze the effects of the increase in mean water level due to the presence of breaking waves on coastal inundation using a coupled wave circulation model system. The system includes a wave model, SWAM, which is a third simulation model and circulation model SHORESIRC. Observed wave heights velocities in New River northern California, USA, are used for validations during both calm and stormy conditions. Comparisons show good agreement between the model results and observations. Model skill for waves and circulation is evaluated at about 30 locations throughout the inlet, including a recently dredged navigation channel, a shallower channel a flood tidal delta and ebb tidal deltas for a range of flow conditions in May 2012. Model skill for flow velocity and wave high are high in the channels. Model results demonstrate that wave and induced setup is balance, with the pressure gradient term and tidal modulation playing an important role in predicting wave setup
