Feasibility Study of Argon-based Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma Jets on the Sterilization of Cancellous Bone / 利用氬氣大氣電漿束在海綿骨上的可行性研究

碩士 / 國立交通大學 / 機械工程系所 / 106 / Osteomyelitis has been a difficult issue for medical surgeons, antibiotic treatment and traditional surgery are not effective enough for Osteomyelitis, atmospheric-pressure plasma jets(APPJ) are effective for bacterial removal in cancellous bone because APPJ have the ability to penetrate porous bone structure and with minimal damage to surrounding tissue.
(Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA) is the bacterial strain in this study, we have designed different condition of APPJ sterilization, we cultured MRSA on Agar plate and investigate sterilization area with different APPJ treatment time, we also use (Scanning Electron Microscope, SEM) to investigate bacterial appearance after APPJ treatment with different time, penetration study in APPJ cancellous bone sterilization we establishing a process to verify efficacy of APPJ sterilization in cancellous bone.
