碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 水產食品科學研究所 / 106 / Panax notoginseng is a common traditional Chinese medicine. Panax notoginseng has shown can anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and inhibit of cancer cells proliferation and metastasis. To investigate the regulatory roles of Panax notoginseng water extracts (PNWE) on the physiological, immune responses and apoptosis in Litopenaeus vannamei (L. vannamei) challenged with Vibrio alginolyticus (V. alginolyticus). The experimental design are individually injected with the PNWE at 50, 100 and 200 µg (g shrimp)-1 PNWE after challenged with V. alginolyticus for 0, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours. Then, we examined their physiological, immune responses and apoptosis index. The results indicate that shrimp injected with different concentration of PNWE can enhance glucose, lipid and protein levels, and reduce lacate levels, especially at 100 and 200 µg (g shrimp)-1 PNWE after challenged with V. alginolyticus can maintain physiological responses. In addition, PNWE can enhance granular cell (GC) and semi granular cell (SGC) count, superoxide dismutase (SOD), respiratory bursts (RB) activity and phagocytic activity (PA), especially at 50 and 100 µg (g shrimp)-1 PNWE after challenged with V. alginolyticus can enhance immune responses. However, PNWE also can increase reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, apoptosis ratio and apoptosis gene expressions (including voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC), cysteinyl asparate-specific proteinase (Caspase) and tumor-suppressor-like protein (TSL)), especially at 100 µg (g shrimp)-1 PNWE after challenged with V. alginolyticus can enhance apoptosis. In regard to haemocyte surface and organs morphology, that 50 and 100 µg (g shrimp)-1 PNWE can decrease haemocyte, intestine and hepatopancreas damaged, but at 200 µg (g shrimp)-1 PNWE may cause its heavily damaged. In conclusion, shrimp injected with different concentration of PNWE then challenged with V. alginolyticus at different times can maintain physiological responses, enhanced immune responses, increase apoptosis indexes, and also can decrease haemocyte and ogans damaged.
