碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 航運管理研究所 / 106 / With the rise of Southeast Asian economies, Taiwan began to promote the New Southern Policy to hope to enhance trade relations with Southeast Asian countries, and the purpose of this study to understand the shipping industry and the future between Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries.
First, the paper reviews our policy and Southeast Asian’s the current economic and investment environment. Then, to use The Ministry of Transport International Maritime Database find route and capability relationship between Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries.
Two, we collect the container throughput about Southeast Asian countries to build the gray forecast model to predict the amount of throughput growth in the next five years.
According to the results: Singapore and Malaysia have been close to Taiwan, and the results of the forecast in Vietnam and Indonesia, the country's container throughput growth rate is quite potential, Taiwan’s business should not only continue to focus on Vietnam, the Indonesian is another option.
