Reproductive biology of Yellow-spotted skate (Okamejei hollandi) in southwestern Taiwan. / 台灣西南海域產何氏甕鰩(Okamejei hollandi)之 生殖生物學研究

碩士 / 國立高雄海洋科技大學 / 漁業生產與管理研究所 / 106 / This study aims to examine the reproductive biology of yellow-spotted skate (Okamejei hollandi) in the southwestern Taiwan between on the specimen collectd monthly from December 2016 to December 2017 A total of 850 specimens (492 female and 358 male) caught by bottom trawlers were collected at the Ke-zi-liao fishing port , Kaohsiung City. Disc width (DW) of specimens ranged from 6.0-31.5 cm. The maximum sizes of the female and male were 31.5 cm DW and 27.3 cm DW, respectively. The sizes at 50% maturity (LR50R) were estimated to be 23.47 cm DW for female and 18.33 cm DW for male. Relationships between the disc width (DW) and total body weight (TW) were significantly different between sexes by Likelihood ratio test, and can be described as followings:TW = 0.0074DWP3.2658P (r² = 0.995;n = 483) for females; TW = 0.0069DWP3.2927P(r² = 0.994;n = 339) for male. The reproductive style is oviparity. Based on the estimations of gonadosomatic index, hepatosomatic index, the month average maximum follicle diameter and histological examination of gonad, the reproductive activity at yellow-spotted skate occurrs all the year around. The source of reproductive energy is from the liver, the oocyte development can be categorized into 6 stages based on histological examination.
