碩士 / 國立高雄師範大學 / 工業科技教育學系 / 106 / This study, based on a hull plant of a Corporation as an example, aimed to capitalize on the competency needs analysis to delineate the essence of competency needs of welding jobs. After plowing through literature academics, the study, dissected and summarized each job responsibility items such as assembly, superstructure, and internal works. The questionnaire of welding job Capability benchmark was made; also, six reviewers such as professionals or scholars were invited to assess, review and modify such questionnaire. Accordingly, six major facets of welding job competency needs were confirmed, which involved with three tasks, twelve activities, Eighteen behavioral indicators, twenty-five competency knowledge, fourteen competency job skills, four job outputs, and five competency attitude, totaling eighty-one competency tasks. Participants of this thesis included the technicians practicing welding works, rank-and-file staff, and contractors of a Corporation, all of their current status were surveyed by the aforementioned research instruments. Of 240 copies of questionnaires circulated, 216 valid copies were returned with a return rate of ninety percent. The data obtained via questionnaire was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA in order to comprehend the practical implementation of welding job currently, its competency needs, as well as to examine whether the job positions, years of service, or education experiences of welding technicians would impact their perception towards any competency task of the competency needs. There were significant differences among the job positions, ages, years of service, experience of welding technicians and education background towards the competency task of the competency needs. The result of this study can be used as an important reference for welding job-related training.
