Heavy Metals Contents of Algae from New Taipei City, Cultivated Fisheries Demonstration Zone - Gongliao Mao Bay / 新北市栽培漁業示範區-貢寮卯澳灣藻類重金屬之含量

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 食品科學系 / 106 / Algae are rich in nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. They are richer in minerals than other edible plants and are therefore often recommended as food supplements or as processed foods. When promoting the consumption of algae, the issue of food safety of algae is often mentioned recently, among them, the heavy metal content of algae is of concern to the public, in order to understand the amount of algae heavy metals accumulated by the people, this study focused on the algae collected from New Taipei City, cultivated fisheries demonstration zone - Gongliao Mao Bay from October 105 to October 106, reference Food and Drug Administration the official methods, “General Method of Test for Heavy Metals”,samples were digested using microwave system and determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer(ICP-MS),concentrations of Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr, Hg, As in the algae were analyzed, and analysis of inorganic arsenic content in total arsenic content greater than 1 mg/kg.Calibration curves of Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr, Hg, As were linear in the range from 0 – 10 ng/mL,the correlation coefficients for all the calibration curves were at least 0.9999, showing good linear relationship. Analysis of NMIJ CRM 7405-a Seaweed (Hijiki) as certified reference material, compare the analytical results with the indicated values to discuss the accuracy of the method. The analysis results are between 80 and 106% of the indicated value, and the CV% of the precision is less than 10%, indicating that the accuracy of the method is excellent. According to the algae hygiene standards set by the Department of Health, the 10 algae tested in this study are all in accordance with Pb, Cd should be below 1.0 ppm (mg/kg), and Hg should be below 0.5 ppm (mg/kg), inorganic arsenic analysis of algae with total arsenic results above 1.0 ppm (mg/kg), Among them,Sargassum ilicifolium and Sargassum fusiforme were higher than the standard 1.0 ppm (mg/kg), and the Sargassum fusiforme was the highest, was 12.57 mg/kg (4.95 ~ 32.15 mg/kg). Algae analysis found that green algae are likely to accumulate Pb, of which the best is the adsorptive capacity of Ulva prolifera, and the ability of Ulva prolifera to adsorb Cr and Cu is also higher than that of other chlorella, therefore Ulva prolifera can be used as a monitoring indicator for heavy metals; Brown algae is not only easy to accumulate total arsenic but also has higher inorganic arsenic content than red algae and green algae, it may be that the carnosol contained in the algal body can chelate with the metal ions in the cell, it may also be that the area of the fronds of the brown algae has more contact area with the metal ions around the cells.
