碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 106 / Shipping is a global business with market cycle characteristic. The 2008 global financial crisis made a great impact to the structure of whole shipping market. Without the help of traditional Banking loans, the shipping industry needs new capital injection to facilitate the development.
Unlike the traditional financial industry, Islamic finance must comply with the provisions of the Islamic law. The law is based on the Quran and the Hadith of Muhammad, both of which are guided by the guiding principles of Muslim religion. Thus, the Islamic finance has a very unique set of trading patterns. The fundamental framework of Islamic financial system is prohibition of interest, gambling, speculation and risky transaction. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the loans based on Islamic law, and then according to the above method, suggesting the financing model that can be use by shippers. Next part is about the brief analysis of other countries to develop the status of Islamic finance. Finally, the chapter will contribute advice to shipper as financing reference.
