碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 106 / The purpose of this study is to establish a model to predict the perception of the usefulness of blockchain technology adopt, and analyze the relationship between factors about the adoption of blockchain and intention to adopt this technology in the liner shipping industry in Taiwan. There were 204 valid responses collected from Taiwan’s liner shipping industry professionals. The research model was evaluated by partial least squares structural equation modelling(PLS-SEM) technique.
The results show that the perceived ease of use of blockchain has a positive and significant effect on the perceived usefulness of the blockchain. The perceived usefulness of the blockchain technology has a positive and significant effect on the attitude toward using the blockchain. The perceived usefulness of the blockchain and attitude toward using it both have positive and significant impacts on the intention to use the blockchain. To the author’s knowledge, there isn’t any company in Taiwan’s shipping industry has actually adopted the blockchain technology, thus respondents have less concerns with the challenges of a new technology and whether the blockchain technology is easy to use or not. In addition, the following three hypotheses are not supported: The relationship between perceived ease of using the blockchain technology and attitude toward use it, the relationship between performance risk of using the blockchain technology and attitude toward use it, and the relationship between performance risk of using the blockchain technology and intention to use it.
