碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 106 / In the EU, the regulatory environment of liner shipping is characterized by two block exemption regulations: Regulation 4056/86 allows liner conferences to be held, and Regulation 823/2000 allows the establishment of consortia.
Liner consortia are operational agreements between carriers on a trade-by-trade or global basis for providing a joint service, including the exchange, sale or cross-chartering of slots on vessels. Liner consortia or strategic alliance have affected container trade, resulting in significantly increased productivity and capacity utilization since 2000.
In the beginning of this research, the development of the strategic alliances of liner shipping is organized by the literature review. Next, using the micoreconomics and the empirical data of the industry to analyze how much impact and influence will be brought to the liner shipping after taking the strategic alliance operation.
