碩士 / 東吳大學 / 國際經營與貿易學系 / 106 / In recent years, "mobile payment" in the global financial technological wave has changed the behaviors of both financial services and consumers' payment. The Apple Pay launch is likely to drive the development of Taiwan's mobile payments, in the future. This study examines the listed companies with mobile payment concept selected by the Master link Securities Corporation money DJ in Greater China (including the financial industry, telecommunications industry and related supply chain industry). The data collected form the TEJ database of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This study investigates the business model and future development of mobile payments in Greater China, also analyze the announcement effects of Apple Pay launch across the areas and industries via event studies. The results show that Apple Pay announcement has a significant negative impact on the enterprises in China, since "WeChat Pay" and "Alipay" have already become the leaders. In Hong Kong, the announcement of Apple Pay launch has a positive impact on the financial industry and the stock returns of the companies. On the other hand, the deregulation of payment regulations has a positive impact on companies’ returns, but Apple Pay announcement is a negative reward for the financial industry in Taiwan. Finally, the conclusions and suggestions assist the regulators to adjust the direction of development and the competition strategy, and provide recommendations to the future promotion of mobile payment in the financial industry.
