Study on Working Pressure of Voluntary Service Cadres in Coast Patrol Units of the Coast Guard / 海巡署岸巡單位志願役領導幹部工作壓力研究

碩士 / 樹德科技大學 / 資訊管理系碩士班 / 106 / The coast patrol units of the Coast Guard have the responsibility to investigate and seize smuggling, preventing illegal entry into our country and other related maintenance of the coast security. The responsibility of the voluntary service cadre in coast patrol unit is very important, not only facing various emergencies, complications and conflicts, but also carrying out the demands and orders of the superiors, and supervising the subordinates to carry out the task without any mishap, As a result, they often have problems with work pressure. In this study, qualitative research methods were used to explore factors that create working pressure and impact of working pressure. Using semi-structured in-depth interviews, interviewed five voluntary service cadres to obtain first-hand information, and supplemented by field observations by the researchers. The analysis of research data was conducted using grounded theory methods. After the theory saturation was reached, the results were obtained.
  This study found that the factors that produce work pressure are: organizational factors (including: service features, job-specific features, interpersonal relationship, organizational structure, and superior leadership style), personal factors (including: family background, and economic factors), and because individual differences (including: nurturance education, as well as personality traits) have different degrees of work pressure, resulting in physiological, psychological and behavioral effects. Especially when faced with the matters assigned and censured by superiors, and the implementation of difficult tasks, will bear considerable work pressure. However, the leading cadres must have good professional ability and interpersonal relationship in order to relieve their work pressure.
  This study suggests that: (1) Strengthen the ability to resist pressure in the education for cadre training, (2) extend the time for appointed officials to service units, and actively cultivate the professional abilities of leading cadres; (3) Establish a psychological counseling mechanism to help overcome psychological and working pressures obstacles, (4) improve the living environment, properly adjust service hours, streamline administrative operations, and properly schedule vacation time.
