A Narrative Study on The Career Resilience of Chinese Christian Missionaries in Creative Access Area / 基督徒華人宣教士赴海外創啟地區宣教之生涯韌性敘事研究

碩士 / 淡江大學 / 教育心理與諮商研究所碩士班 / 106 / The purpose of this research is to study Chinese Christian missionaries’ difficulty in creative access area, and exploring the Chinese Christian missionaries’career resilience.
This research adopts the method of narrative study, and the analysis of holistic content . Deep interviewed with three Chinese Christian missionaries who are over 25 and have the experiences of missions over one year.
The conclusion of Chinese Christian missionaries’ difficulty in creative access area are as follow:
1. The initial difficulty is the hesitation of the career decision, and not acclimated to the food,the air or the environment.2. The medium-term’s difficulty focuses on the culture shock of ethnocentrism, their own security crisis, loneliness, and interpersonal integration, loneliness, and interpersonal integration with team members.3.The late stage’s difficulty is that unpredictable situation make the missionaries stop their mission, and the frustration after coming back Taiwan.

Several findings about the career resilience as follow:
The psychological point of view
1.Career resilience is a intergration of self-Identity. 2.Personality traits and the attitude of life. 3.Retrive self-worth. 4. The interpersonal relationship is a blessing in disguise. 5.Ability of emotional adjustment.
The religion point of view
1.The calling is in the heart from GOD.2.Characters in Bible who influence them.3.Be still by the faith.
