Can Overseas Branches Really Bring Better Benefits To Their Own Banks? / 海外分行是否真能為本國銀行帶來較佳的效益?

碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 財務金融系 / 106 / In view of the fact that overseas branches of domestic banks are increasingly important to bank performance. Regression analysis of the Stata fixed effect model is adopted in this study. Using the return of equity , return of assets, the relative gap in interest rate risk as a bank performance indicator, this study explores whether the overseas branches can bring better performance for domestic banks? Among all overseas branches, will the overseas branches of the Asia-Pacific region and China, Hong Kong and Macau affect the performance of domestic banks? The results of the study show that Taiwan’s banking industry’s overseas branch establishments can indeed affect the performance of domestic banks and have a positive relationship with each other. With the increasing number of investors investing in the Asia-Pacific region and China, Hong Kong and Macao in recent years, the regression analysis of return of equity and return of assets to the number of branches in the Asia-Pacific region are all significant.
