碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 電機工程系 / 106 / This thesis develops an infrastructureless indoor/outdoor augmented reality path navigation and push advertisement device. It can lay 3D virtual path navigation objects and push advertisement objects over what users are actually seeing in front of themselves in real world without deploying any infrastructure or markers. In order to improve the accuracy, reliability, and promptness of positioning estimation, image registration, and pose estimation stages of augmented reality technology, this thesis proposes “Semi-Direct Visual Odometry Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM)” based on conventional “Semi-Direct Visual SLAM”. Experimental results show the positioning estimation accuracy and reliability of Semi-Direct Visual Odometry SLAM are similar to those of conventional Feature-Based Visual SLAM, Semi-Direct Visual SLAM, and Direct Visual SLAM, under various indoor/outdoor spaces. But the positioning estimation promptness of Semi-Direct Visual Odometry SLAM is the best. The image registration accuracy, reliability, and promptness of Semi-Direct Visual Odometry SLAM are better than those of conventional End Dot EdgeLine, Panoramic Image Segmentation, and Wiener-Deconvolution Wall-Floor Detection. The pose estimation accuracy, reliability, and promptness of Semi-Direct Visual Odometry SLAM are better than those of conventional Specific Marker Tracking and Inertial Optical Flow. On the other hand, Semi-Direct Visual Odometry SLAM proposed by this thesis has been implemented into Linux portable device seamlessly and smoothly to accomplish indoor/outdoor augmented reality path navigation and push advertisement. This implementation is suitably applied to versatile indoor/outdoor visual path navigation services, like site directions, event guidance, merchandise seeking, and social searching. Besides, this implementation is also suitably applied to versatile indoor/outdoor visual push advertisement services, like attraction information, activity declaration, store marketing, and social networking.
