碩士 / 國立雲林科技大學 / 數位媒體設計系 / 106 / The growing of elder population has been a trending issue in Taiwan. As the population structure shifted, more and more effort has been put into recreation related activities for elderly. Eco-tourism for elderly has been one of the activities that allows elderly to learn and relax in the environment. As the technology is improving, more and more technology could be used in integrating with the tourism experience. Allowing tourism to be experience in a different way. Therefore, the purpose of this study is analysis the needs of body and mind for elderly in eco-tourism. Then, analysis elderly’s activity in eco-tourism regarding user’s intension, interaction behavior as well as active and inactive behavior in user interface design for eco-tourism. By analysis the two factors, the study aims at forming design principle for user interface design of eco-tourism for the elderly.
The research is separate into 4 stages, consist of preliminary investigation, prototyping, evaluation, and research result. In the preliminary investigation stage, researcher analysis previous literatures and form the basis of design principle for user interface design for the elderly. Next, using Service Blueprint and Focus Group to form the first draft of design principle for user interface design of eco-tourism for the elderly. Finally, researcher uses Expert Interview to form the completed design principle for user interface design of eco-tourism for the elderly. During the prototyping stage, researcher create the prototype base on the design principle in the previous stage. The evaluation stage utilize Heuristic Evaluation to evaluate the prototype on user’s usability. The last stage is research result, the prototype of user interface for eco-tourism is proven to be usable.
According to the study result, researcher conclude few results. Including: (1) Forming design principle regarding user interface for elderly base on analyzing elderly’s user intention, interaction behavior as well as active and inactive information for eco-tourism. There are eleven principles. Including: easy learning, consistency, simplicity, help information, easy to use, easy to watch, offer feedback, error tolerance, fit mental model, metaphors and safety. (2) By conducting evaluation, the design principle regarding user interface for elderly is proven be effective in usability. Furthermore, the research serve as a useful sample for future related study to examine on.
