App Development for Smart Tag in Cold-Chain Transportation / 智慧型標籤應用於冷鏈運輸之 APP 開發

碩士 / 逢甲大學 / 應用數學系 / 107 / The cold chain transportation is to deliver goods (foods, vaccines, etc) under the low-temperature environment, while some factors, such as turn off the transporter engine or sensor breakdown, would lead to the temperature beyond requirement. Despite a freezing goods when the consumer received, it’s hard to ensure that the goods is inside the range of valid temperatures. As a result, consumers may question the goods quality. To tackle the issue, this work integrates software and hardware to develop the smart tag which can be stuck on the goods in the cold chain transportation and constantly records the temperature at regular intervals. Consumers can check the historical temperature to make sure the quality of their goods.
There are two features to our smart tag: first, we use the MSP430, a microcontroller type, to reduce the power usage of tag, resulting in the extension of life time. Under the consideration of low cost, the design of power saving extends the usage of our tag. Next, we develop an APP to visualize the historical temperature recording in the smart tag. Consumers can review the temperature variation during the cold chain transportation, and further have more confidence to the goods quality.
