碩士 / 輔仁大學 / 應用美術學系碩士班 / 107 / Subculture is indispensable for current society, which deals with rocks, hippies, skinheads, so-called street works, etc. In recent years, American comic concept, visual arrangement, and elements in comic books are heavily used in current subculture-related visual identity design. However, there were only few research studies on American comic style applying in illustration in National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan so far. Thus, the study aims to present the content of subculture in American comic style posters.
To begin with, synthesize American comic elements after literature reviewing. Then, use content analysis to examine the composition of posters using American comic elements. Furthermore, analyze the usage of signs in subculture posters and visual arrangement with cross-sectional analysis. Finally, design posters based on the results of the study.
