碩士 / 輔仁大學 / 應用美術學系碩士班 / 107 / Poster is one of the most important mediums of delivering information. Therefore, by observing posters, social issues or phenomena can be easily seen, as well as the vision expression.
The winning works in international poster exhibitions can not only show how modern posters are, but also show what aspect people are focusing on.This research is based on the 26 winning pieces of work from five of the authoritative poster exhibitions, which are International Poster Triennial in Toyama, International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, The International Biennale of Poster in Mexico, and Lahti Poster Triennial-International Poster Exhibition in Finland. By using the method of Case Study, this research analyzes the topic categories, visual expression in the winning posters, and designs actual posters.
According the analysis to cases, among 26 samples, the Environmental poster has the largest proportion as 46%, 12 pieces. There are four expression elements, which are font, color, illustration, composition.
First, the font, which is mostly sans-serif , to show formality and solemnity. The second one is color, which is mostly about achromatic color. Some of works might add layout colors to bring out the details. Using achromatic color can make people feel depressing and oppressing. Meanwhile, it can also bring out the essential parts of illustration, in this case, illustrations are significant. The illustrations in this kind of samples are mostly about icon, which can make the connotation behind the works be apparent. Some of them might add index to vivid the picture, also make them more readable. For composition, the poster designs are mostly centered and leaving negative space, meaning to pointing out the expressing parts, allowing people to focus on illustration themselves.
