Research on Risk Management of Night Scuba Dive in Taiwan / 臺灣夜間潛水風險管理之研究

碩士 / 輔仁大學 / 體育學系碩士班 / 107 / The purpose of this research was to explore the current situation and risk management of night diving in Taiwan. Through literary analysis and the exploration of diving instructors determine the research objective, research question, and to prepare interview outlines. This study interviewed diving instructors with semi-structured and in-depth qualitative research method, then further analyzes and discuss.
According to the research purpose and research question, the following conclusion could drawn: 1. For the purpose of divers’ safety, the potential risks required to be assessed and alert before any night diving activities. 2. It was most of interviewed instructors’ consensus that a complete diving plan can avoid safety concerns, 3.yet, the further factors include the experience of divers, the status of sea tide, and the unexpected incidents of equipment.
According to the conclusion, it was suggested that the common risk of diving at night was the psychological factor of the divers themselves, which further affects the safety under the water. In addition, the abilities and knowledge to respond to unexpected circumstances need to be pointed out and be strengthened. Being cautious can control injuries to the minimum. Research can be extended to a wider range of diving risks to increase the breadth of academic research.
