Activation of the local industry in cultural changes-Anping Milk Fish Exhibition Center for example / 文化變遷中活化在地產業- 安平 府城虱目魚舘

碩士 / 崑山科技大學 / 環境設計研究所 / 107 / The Anping Harbor, completed in 1645, has been an important harbor for Taiwan, however due to the sediment accumulation and the newly established harbors near Anping district , the Anping Harbor has become idle. The ambiguity of its role and the underutilized areas held back the progress of the town near the harbor in Anping district. Although the decline of the Offshore Fisheries, the aquaculture is flourish especially for the milkfish.And the milkfish also became the the classic traditional cuisine of Anping. The culture of milkfish has a close association with Anping.

It is very important to establish a cultural center that promotes the milkfish. Cooperated with industry, government, and academic circles, we build a half-abandoned space of former restaurant, Five Dime, decorating it with Tainan local elements such as oyster shells and driftwoods, stretching the texture of the space, we create a green, low-energy-consumed environment in Anping. The substance of Anping culture is to concern for the quality of life of community member who lives in the old tribe. Culture is the bond between human beings and nature space.The packaging design and the value it stretches are important to local industry in Anping.

Taking the advantage of a preferable geographic location, we renovate abandoned building and revitalize by giving the theme, today, the culture of milkfish has not only successfully attracted numerous tourists but also has become a well-known landmark of Anping. More importantly, it has become a model of transferring the fishery industry into the tourism industry in southern Taiwan.
